Selena Gomez on the cover of TOPP Magazine

How has your life changed?
- Everything has changed, and that is both good and bad. It's sad to live away from your parents, but I love what I'm doing and I don't know what I'd do without it.

- What do you love about your job?
- That I can come here and do what I love. Working for Disney is fantastic. This year so much will happen. With a new season for my show, I'm also working on my new album, and with Demi on Princess Protection Program.

- How do you keep yourself so grounded?
- That credit goes to my parents. I'm only 16, and I need them in this business. My parents can also say no for me, says Selena.

- How is you character Alex in proportion to you?
- She's a little mean, and gets in trouble a lot. I try to stay away from trouble - and I'm also an only child, and Alex has two brothers. But we both like to have fun, Selena laughs.

Selena has had a celeb crush on Shia LeBeouf, but now she's really into Nick Jonas.

- We're a great match, and we have the same intrests, she says.

- Do you have any role models?
- Hilary Duff! I love Lizzie McGuire, and that I could do a follow-up to her movie was so cool! I also like Rachel McAdams. She's down to earth, and not a lot in the media.

- What does your friends think about you being a celebrity and being in magazines worldwide?
- I'm still Selena, and they're my friends. The difference is that I'm homeschooled, and I have a different job.

- You're Hollywood's new favourite. How do you handle having paparazzies following you?
- There are both positive and negative sides with having paparazzies after you, but it keeps me in the limelight. I have to be nice to them, if I want them to be nice to me. It's something I have to get used to. A lot of celebrities want a paparazzi after them, so I'm not complaining!

Ashley Tisdale is Shape Magazine's January 2009 covergirl

Photobucket

Ashley tells Shape she used to hate the gym and ate junk food whenever she wanted until she injured her back of the set of The Suite Life of Zack & Cody. The lingering injury made her realize she needed to strengthen her core and head to the gym, a place she hated.

"The gym felt like torture!" she tells Shape. "Now before I work out I think, 'I love exercise' - and it works." In addition to upping her workout, the 23-year-old also changed her eating habits, as a result of a family history of diabetes. "I realized just how much exercise and eating right make a difference in how you feel now and when you get older," Ashley said. She spoke to Shape exclusively about these changes and how they've not only benefited her body, but also given her a healthy dose of confidence.

"I may live in Hollywood, but that doesn't mean I lead a Hollywood lifestyle," says Ashley. "My mom never drank or smoked. I learned from her to embrace being different rather than be intimidated by it." That skill came in handy last year when she had surgery for a deviated septum that was affecting her voice. Tabloid reports were not kind. "I had to recover from the operation in front of the whole world, and a lot of photos were taken of me while my nose was still swollen," she says. "Some people made a big deal out of it, saying I had plastic surgery to change the way I look."

The way she looks now is the result of her work with Los Angeles trainer Christopher Hebert, who she began working with last summer, the mag says. A combination of cardio and resistance training with a large focus of strengthening Ashley's core has put her in great shape. Her routine includes running stairs with a medicine ball, holding the weighted ball overhead and jogging up and down a set of stairs 10 times while skipping every other step. The mag features her complete workout, which you can do at home in 20 minutes.

Rihanna talks to RWD Magazine

Rihanna’s astronomical ascent into the pop stratosphere was solidified this year with the re-release of her platinum selling album 'Good Girl Gone Bad'. On a whistlestop visit to the UK, Emmanuel Ezugwu got a chance to quiz the Bajan siren.

How will you be spending your New Years?
I'm not sure yet. It's too hard to decide.

What's your ideal Christmas present?
I am more concerned with what i am getting everybody else. I'm so bad because I can't ever come up with the perfect gift to get anybody. It's way too hard but that's my main concern. I haven't even started my Christmas shopping yet so i know it's going to be chaos.

At the moment you've got three songs in the chart. Why do we love you so much in Britain?
Well thank you for all your love and don't ever stop that (laughs). I need you guys. I love you guys in the UK. You show me so much love and support and I will always come back here.

There was talk of you being on X Factor are you a fan?
Yes im a huge fan. I would love to perform on it as it's the biggest show here. i didn't see the final because i had a show in New York.

Good Girl Gone Bad was an amazing album. When can we expect a follow up?
Next year, definitely. I'm back in the studio at the beginning of the year and i can't wait.

What UK acts are you a fan off?
I really like Duffy and Leona Lewis is so beautiful and her voice is absolutely amazing and those are my two favourites right now. I would love to do a duet with them. Lily Allen too, she's a bad ass.

Your seen as a style icon. Who's your favourite designers?
Well i love Burberry. I like underground designers that are coming up as well. I like anyone that has a funky style.

Can you talk about the Gucci Tattoo Heart campaign that you're involved in?
Well me and Gucci just collaborated on a campaign which is to help children in Africa who have Aids and HIV and it's run through Unicef. We made a collection and 25% of the proceeds go to Unicef for those kids in Africa.

How many tattoos do you have now?
11 I think or 12. I don't really plan for them I just get tattoo fever and then i just go in. I don't really think about it.

What's been your highlight for 2008?
My Grammy that i won for Umbrella with Jay Z. That was one of the best night's of my life.

Taylor Swift on the cover of ForUs Magazine

On her first foray into designing her own fashions: “Everyone’s suffering because of the current state of the economy, so I try to be as conscious of that as possible when I make decisions. I’m in the process of designing a line of sundresses for L.E.I., so be sold exclusively as Wal-Mart. Dresses are what I wear most, so I’m really excited for them to come out!”

On her new album, Fearless: “I think being fearless means that you’ve got a lot of fears, but you jump anyway. I have a new favorite [song] every day. Right now, my favorites on the album are ‘You’re Not Sorry’ and ‘White Horse.’”

Top 100 singles of 2008

Here are the people that I blog about that made the list.

No. 7

"American Boy"
BY ESTELLE FEAT.
KANYE WEST

More proof that great R&B can help America improve its international reputation: Winsome U.K. singer Estelle crushes on U.S. B-boys and makes Kanye West actually seem charming.

No. 11

Disturbia"
BY RIHANNA

The "Umbrella" girl channels Michael Jackson on this awesomely creepy synth-pop mindfuck co-written by her beau, Chris Brown.

No. 29

"So What"
BY PINK

Saucier than ever, Pink picks a fight with her ex and crowns herself Queen Badass in what sounds like a very special episode of VH1's Charm School.

No. 46

"Fifteen"
BY TAYLOR SWIFT

Take it from Taylor, boys suck: "When you're 15, somebody tells you they love you/You're gonna believe them." Puppy love may be short, but with tunes like these, Swift's teen-pop reign will be longer.

No. 51

Rule Breaker"
BY ASHLEE SIMPSON

Mrs. Wentz's rebellion jam is all bratty 'tude, stabby guitar and 2008's most entertaining taunt: "You don't want no beef!"

No.100

Yes We Can"
BY WILL.I.AM

Artistically, it's not exactly "A Change Is Gonna Come." But in 2008, this R&B polemic was the anthem we needed, and in terms of votes swayed and ballots cast, it was the rare song that made a difference.
